Installation:
After downloading and extracting the Sage Chess files and saving them to a location you will remember, simply run "sagechess.exe"
Logging In:
To log into the Sage Chess game simply type a username and password and click the "Login" button.

Select an Opponent:
Click on the name of another logged in player to challenge them to a match or wait to be challenged. At this point you may also decide to watch a game in progress. Simply click on a current game, a message will be sent to the players of that game asking if they mind if you watch. They may accept or refuse your request.

Once an opponent has accepted your game challenge you will be greeted with a coin flip to determine who is to select colour preference (as usual, white goes first).

If you win the coin flip you can select either white (first player) or red (second player) Otherwise you will be automatically assigned the colour not chosen by your opponent.

Choose Style:
Its now time to choose the style of game you wish to play. Now you can select whether you and your opponent wishes to play a timed on non-timed game or whether you wish to play with a limit to the number of moves. You may also edit the amount of time you a lot for the game.

The Interface:
At this point you will enter the main game area (white shown in this example). Click on various areas of the image below to see a brief description of how they function.

Game Board:
This is the main 3 Dimensional area where the game play itself occurs. Drag you pieces with the left mouse button to move. When you release the mouse button, however the move is not considered final until you click the diologe box that askes whether it is your final move. Once you click ‘ok’, given you did so within 60 sec, your turn is over.

Information Dialogue Box:
This is where you will find most of the content required during the game including a brief layout of the rules of Sage Chess. By default this area will display a record of your moves.

Main Menu Bar:
Use this bar to access sub menus you may need during game play.

Sub Menus:
Various menu options are available here and are accessed by the Main Menu Bar.

User Feedback:
At times during game play messages and alerts will be displayed here to give you some feedback as to the status of the game.

Chat Window:
You may communicate with your opponent using the built in Chat Window. Type you message in the lower pane and hit enter on your keyboard. Messages will be displayed in the upper pane. You can use the scroll bar on the right to move through the message output.

Game Control Panel:
The Control Panel provides you with several additional game functions including the ability to rotate the entire 3d game board for different views of the game in progress.
